WHAT, WHY and WHERE YOU FIT
I am part of a group called Citizens for Fairness and Justice which has as its purpose to support Elsa Newman and to speak out for justice in her case. Like thousands of other protective parents, Elsa has been vilified for opposing child abuse committed by the other parent.
Many note-worthy individuals are part of the group. Together we exercise our freedom of expression to seek legal means to expose and correct the systemic failures that led to Elsa’s wrongful conviction and incarceration.
The petition and website contain excerpts from many decent citizens about the severity of the injustice done Elsa and others like her. This is posted with the purpose of freeing Elsa Newman and educating the public about a problem that affects thousands of American children.

Margery Landry admitted breaking into Slobodow's home with the intention to plant incriminating pornography to buttress the children's disclosures that he was abusing them. She found Slobodow in bed unclothed with the child and acted instinctively to pull them apart. During the ensuing struggle, the gun went off, hitting Mr. Slobodow in the leg and resulting in her being found guilty of assault. Only Ms. Newman was convicted as a conspirator of one and as committing attempted murder.
"I am paying a heavy price for my actions, with my incarceration; the loss of my marriage, career, financial security, friends, and reputation; and my continual guilt and remorse. If anyone shared responsibility for what I did, I would want that person to share the consequences. However, I know that I am soley responsible for my actions."
